No replacement tickets will be provided for performances not attended. In general, tickets cannot be returned. Tickets can be given to the Opera House Box Office to be sold on commission. These tickets will be sold if the Opera House no longer has any tickets of its own. However, the Opera House can give no guarantee that it will sell or reimburse the ticket. A commission fee of CHF 10 per seat will be charged. Alternatively, you can donate your ticket to the Club Jung and thus enable a young person to visit Zurich Opera House free of charge.
There is no dress code at Zurich Opera House: you should dress to feel at ease. However, consistently with the festive setting, visitors are generally smartly dressed. Particularly on special occasions, such as gala performances and premières, black tie and evening dresses are by no means out of place. The cloakroom fee is included in the ticket price.
Thanks to the support of Zurich Insurance, opera glasses are available, against a deposit, from the cloakroom.
We remind you that video recordings, photography are forbidden in the auditorium.
The cloakroom fee is included in the ticket price.
Zurich Opera House performs all operas in the original language. Performances are generally given with German and English surtitles. In view of the architecture of the Opera House, please be aware that the surtitles are a service from which not all seats can benefit to the same degree.
The Restaurant Belcanto, with its stunning views of Lake Zurich, welcomes you as a guest with culinary delights not only before and after the performance, but also independently of performances at the Opera House, for example for lunch, with hot food continuously between 11.30 a.m. and 11 p.m. (or for one hour after the end of the performance). The “Piazza” terrace is also a place to linger. For visitors to the Opera house, the Belcanto offers special packages, such as “Opéra Culinaire”, consisting of a three-course menu including aperitif and a programme booklet. If required, synopses in English and French are available from the Box Office.
