To launch the season, we would like to invite you to our big Opening Party on 21 September. From 1O a.m., a varied programme will begin in familiar – and unfamiliar – parts of the Opera House. Experience rehearsals with Ballet Director Christian Spuck and the Zurich Ballet, or attend the dress rehearsal of Mozart’s Don Giovanni. The Opening Party is also a première day: we will be presenting a new production of Bohuslav Martinů’s opera buffa Alexandre bis; for our youngest audiences we have put together an attractive programme, including the successful children’s piece, Hillary goes to the opera. What is more, you can take a fascinating look at our workshops and chat to our in-house staff.
You will find the exact programme at a later stage on our website and in our publications. Entry is free of charge; tickets will be issued for certain performances.
At the turn of the year, Zurich Opera House will set off an exceptional cultural and culinary firework display. Once you have got yourself into the mood for the evening at a drinks reception in the Hall of Mirrors, at a unique gala performance, Zurich Ballet and the Junior Ballet will present you with not only with a firework of a highlights of classical and modern ballet, but also pieces rehearsed especially for the evening.
