When can I place my bids?
The auction on May 9 will be open from 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM.
Do I need to register?
You do not need to register with GalaBid to view the items. However, to place bids, you must register and then verify your email address. Registration is free.
Will my name be visible when I place a bid?
You can choose in your account settings whether you want to bid anonymously or display your name.
Will I be notified if I am outbid?
You can activate this option in your account under “Notifications.”
Can I set a maximum bid amount?
Yes, you can set a personal maximum bid. The platform will then automatically continue bidding on your behalf up to your set limit.
“Max Bidding” can be selected below the bid input field.
Do I need to provide payment details?
Since no transactions take place during the event itself, you do not need to provide payment details. The auction will be processed in the week following “A Night at the Opera.” The highest bidders will receive confirmation to redeem their items along with a payment slip.
Will I receive a donation receipt?
Once your payment has been received, you will be issued a confirmation of receipt and a donation certificate.
Your donation strengthens the Zurich Opera House’s work with young talent and outreach programmes – supporting emerging artists and opening opera, ballet and concert experiences to the audiences of tomorrow.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Donations to the Zurich Opera House are tax-deductible as charitable contributions in accordance with § 32 lit. b and § 65 lit. c of the tax law of the Canton of Zurich.
Will I receive a donation receipt?
We are happy to provide you with a confirmation of your donation for the tax authorities.
How can I make a donation?
You can donate by credit card (Mastercard, Visa), PostFinance Card, PostFinance E-Finance, Twint or PayPal. We can also provide you with a QR invoice, or you may transfer your donation via e-banking:

Is my data secure when donating online?
The donation platform is operated by www.soulclick.ch. Data transmission is encrypted via a secure 256-bit SSL connection. The Zurich Opera House does not store any card data. Your payment details are encrypted and transmitted via a Datatrans payment gateway to a partner certified by the credit card industry (PCI DSS). Our service providers may use this information only to fulfil their duties and are obliged to comply with Swiss data protection regulations.
Your personal data is treated with strict confidentiality: the Zurich Opera House does not trade, rent, sell or exchange personal data and complies with applicable data protection laws, in particular the revised Swiss Data Protection Act (DSG).
Can donations be made from Germany, and will I receive a donation receipt?
Yes, donations from Germany are possible. Thanks to the cooperation between the "Friends of the Zurich Opera House" and "Maecenata", donations can be tax-deductible in Germany. You will receive an appropriate donation receipt. These contributions also support the Zurich Opera House’s work with young talent and outreach programmes.
