A visit to the opera house can enchant, seduce, and astonish – it can make you feel happy and melancholic, thoughtful and addicted, reverent and sometimes perplexed. Every opera or ballet performance is a powerhouse of emotions, fueled by the many people on and behind the stage who bring all their skill and knowledge to bear each day so that the curtain rises on time and the magic unfolds across the footlights. To experience and share this range of emotions directly and together is more precious today than ever – and opera and ballet achieve this in an incomparable way.

"Connect" – Dancing for More Quality of Life
«Connect» – Tanzen für mehr Lebensqualität – Jetzt spenden!
«Connect» ist ein Tanzprojekt für Menschen, die mit neurologischen Herausforderungen wie Multiple Sklerose (MS) oder Parkinson leben. Der Impuls dazu kam von Cathy Marston, Ballettdirektorin des Balletts Zürich, die mit ihrem Ballett «The Cellist» die Lebensgeschichte der an MS erkrankten und früh verstorbenen Jacqueline du Pré erzählt.
Im vergangenen Februar 2024 lancierten das Ballett Zürich, die Tonhalle-Gesellschaft Zürich, die freie Performance-Gruppe The Field und die Dance & Creative Wellness Foundation die Pilotphase von «Connect». In zwei Gruppen trafen sich Menschen, die mit Parkinson oder Multiple Sklerose leben, einmal wöchentlich zum Tanztraining im Vereinssaal der Tonhalle Zürich. Ausgewählte Sessions wurden von Musikerinnen und Musikern des Tonhalle-Orchesters Zürich live begleitet. Wir freuen uns sehr, dass das Kunsthaus Zürich als neue Kooperations-Partnerin gewonnen werden konnte: Zusätzlich zu den Probebesuchen im Opernhaus Zürich und beim Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich sorgt damit auch die Begegnung mit Kunst für weitere Perspektiven.
Aufgrund der grossen Nachfrage und den überaus positiven Rückmeldungen soll «Connect» in der Spielzeit 2025/26 fest in das Programm des Opernhauses etabliert und möglichst vielen interessierten Personen Tanztrainings ermöglicht werden.
Mit Ihrem Engagement können wir das Projekt gemeinsam realisieren und Menschen mit neurologischen Herausforderungen zu mehr Lebensqualität verhelfen. Vielen Dank!

The donation platform is operated by www.soulclick.ch. Data transmission is encrypted via a secure 256-bit SSL connection. The Zurich Opera House does not store any card details. Your payment information is encrypted and transferred directly via a Datatrans payment gateway to a partner certified by the credit card industry (PCI DSS). Our service providers may use this information solely to fulfil their tasks and are obliged to comply with Swiss data protection regulations.
Your personal data will be treated in strict confidence: the Zurich Opera House does not trade in addresses, nor does it rent, sell or exchange personal data, and it complies with the applicable data protection regulations, in particular the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).
