ZURICH TALKS DANCE
New Discussion Series
Three Zurich dance institutions join forces for the first time to offer enthusiasts deeper insights into this multifaceted stage art under the title ZURICH TALKS DANCE. The new collaborative platform brings together the Ballett Zürich, the dance department of the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) with its BA/MA degree programs and the Zurich Dance Academy (TaZ), and the Tanzhaus Zürich. The renowned Palucca University of Dance Dresden has joined as an international partner.
These new discussion formats are intended to provide an opportunity for public exchange on artistic, professional, and pedagogical issues in the ballet world. In a wide variety of settings, including talk shows, interviews, and online events, the public can learn more about the lives and work of dancers, choreographers, ballet teachers, and other creatives in the dance world, as well as meet top dance professionals. Plans are in the works to expand the program in coming years.
The Ballett Zürich will initially participate in ZURICH TALKS DANCE with four live events, two of which will take place at the Opernhaus, and two of which will take place at other exciting venues. In addition to two talks on Sunday mornings on the Opernhaus Studiobühne, there will be two events during the week – one at the Theater der Künste (Gessnerallee) and one at the Kaskadenhalle in the Toni-Areal, followed by an open bar. In this way, we want to present the work of the Ballett Zürich on a larger scale and engage in conversation with other dance makers and dance enthusiasts. The talks are presented by Ballet Director Cathy Marston and Dramaturg Michael Küster.
