Flocking and swarming

Autumn holidays course for 9- to 12-year-olds

Swarming birds and insects, and herds of animals are not only interesting for zoologists, but also for choreographers. In preparation for her ballet Emergence, choreographer Crystal Pite examined insect populations, flocks of birds, herds and packs of animals. Let us also be inspired by the cohabitation of insect populations, flocks of birds and herds of animals at the Zoological Museum of the University of Zurich. We will then use our newly acquired knowledge at the Opera House by flocking together like birds for our flight to the South or swarming like bees in search of a new nest.
