At Wotan’s Table

Wagner Circle for the «Ring für alle»

In May 2024, the new interpretation of Richard Wagner’s Bühnenfestspiel by stage director Andreas Homoki and General Music Director Gianandrea Noseda will be presented as a cycle for the first time. Interest in this new Zurich Ring has been overwhelming, reaching far beyond the borders of Switzerland. That's why the Opernhaus plans on recording the Ring and sharing it with fans around the world. With your attendance at this Fundraising Dinner, you’ll help us reach this goal.

The two cycle presentations are already sold out, but we’ve reserved a contingent of tickets for this Fundraising Dinner. Das Rheingold sets the stage on 3 May 2024. Immediately following the performance is a festive dinner like nothing you’ve ever seen before.

You are cordially invited to be a guest in Valhalla and take your seat on the main stage – at Wotan’s table. The evening will be hosted by entertainer Harald Schmidt.

Joining you will be the crème de la crème of the best Wagnerian singers today, together with none other than Andreas Homoki and Gianandrea Noseda themselves! Together with The Bürgenstock Collection, Mike Wehrle, «Chef of the Year 2023» and Corporate Culinary Director, will provide culinary surprises.

Along with other members of the Wagner Circle, you will not only experience the first cyclical performance of the Zurich Ring, but will also be particularly close to it. You will get to know the singers personally, visit the places where Richard Wagner lived and worked during guided tours in Zurich and the Wagner Museum in Lucerne.

Dining with Wagner singers

The Zurich «Ring für alle»

Zurich is one of the birthplaces of Richard Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen. It was here that the German composer – at the time a wanted revolutionary in exile – first developed the idea of his opera cycle, drafted the story, put pen to paper, and composed large swaths of the score. For these reasons alone, the city has a link to this epic work, which comprises four evenings and 16 hours of music. Wagner’s Ring still fascinates audiences today. Plans are already underway to present a live stream of the second performance of the cycle on the Opernhaus website. The recording will then be available for four further weeks as an on-demand video.
