About the Club Jung

Do you like going to the opera or ballet and want to share your passion with others? You want to learn more about opera and ballet productions, take a peak behind the scenes, visit rehearsals and meet artists and opera house staff? Would you like to enjoy heavily discounted tickets? If you are between 16 and 26 years old and anwsered yes to at least one of the questions, then you should definitely become a member of Club Jung. The membership is free and without obligation (one-time admission fee CHF 20). In regular newsletters we invite you to rehearsal visits and workshops, which are free of charge for club members. Club members can purchase tickets for selected performances in advance at the standard price of CHF 18 - we also inform you about this in our newsletter. And, last but not least, Club members receive last-minute tickets at the price of CHF 18. Tickets are available online from 1pm on the day of the performance or at the box office from 90 minutes before the performance.

FAQ

How much does a membership in Club jung cost?
A Club Jung membership is free of charge. Anyone who wishes to become a member will only pay a registration fee of CHF 20.

Why do I need to specify my email address?
The e-mail address is necessary because all the information about Club Jung is sent via e-mail newsletter.

Why do you have to show/ upload your ID?
We check your age on the basis of the ID, we since the offer of the Club Jung is available only up to the age of 26 years. 

How can I identify myself as a club member?
Your discounted ticket is only valid in combination with the Club Jung membership card. If you cannot present your membership card at the entrance, you will need to pay the price difference to the full ticket price at the box office.

Can I purchase my Club Jung membership shortly before the performance and attend it straight away?
Yes, registering via the Opernhaus app takes just a few minutes.

When can I purchase last-minute tickets?
Last-minute tickets priced at CHF 18 are available on the day of the performance from 1:00 pm via the Opernhaus app, or from 90 minutes before the performance at the box office.
For Sunday performances, online sales begin on Saturday at 1:00 pm.

The last-minute price applies to price categories A to F as well as P and Q.
It does not apply to premieres, guest performances, benefit performances, AMAG popular performances, or group bookings.

Why don’t I see last-minute tickets for certain performances in the app?

There are two ways to obtain last-minute tickets:

1. Online via the app
If tickets are still available, last-minute tickets priced at CHF 18 are released in the app:

  • for weekday and Saturday performances: on the day of the performance from 1:00 pm
  • for Sunday performances: already on Saturday from 1:00 pm

If no last-minute tickets are visible in the app, the online allocation has either been sold out or is not available for that performance.

No online last-minute tickets are available for:

  • premieres
  • AMAG popular performances (overview)
  • guest performances
  • benefit performances
  • Carmen
  • Giulio Cesare in Egitto

2. At the box office (from 90 minutes before the performance)
Regardless of online availability, any remaining last-minute tickets may be available directly at the box office from 90 minutes before the performance, subject to availability.

How do I show proof of my Club Jung membership?
If you joined Club Jung before November 2024, you can still use your physical membership card. Members who registered from November 2024 onwards will only have a digital membership card in the Opernhaus app. When entering, please show either your physical or digital membership card along with a photo ID and your ticket. Discounted tickets are only valid with your Club Jung membership card. If you can’t provide proof of membership, you’ll need to pay the difference to the full ticket price at the box office.

Can I buy Club Jung-Tarif tickets for friends and relatives?
A membership entitles the Club jung member to visit the opera for the special price of CHF 18. Therefore, no reduced tickets can be purchased or passed on to those who are not Club Jung members.

Why can I book two tickets online for the special price?
Maybe you want to go to the opera with a colleague and sit next to that person. If this is also Club Jung member, you can book two tickets and pass the second card on to the other member. It is important that you both can identify yourselves at the entrance as a Clubjung member.

How can I buy a Club Jung ticket and a normal ticket next to each other?
With the Opernhaus app, you can easily select a ticket with the "Club Jung" discount and book the seat next to it without the special price. If you're booking via the website, you can first purchase a ticket with your Club Jung web login, note the seat, and then use the regular online access to select the seat next to it.

What if I am over 26 years old?
Club membership is then no longer possible. Your membership finishes with the 27th birthday. But if you still want to go to the opera or ballet at discounted prices, you can apply for a junior membership with the friends of the opera / friends of the ballet. With this, you will be able to buy Legi prizes at the Opernhaus Zürich until the 30th birthday, no matter whether you are still studying or already in your professional life. The membership for one season costs only CHF 100.
