For selected performances, we are giving away seats from categories 1 to 3 for CHF 35 per ticket. You can win up to two tickets per lottery. With a bit of luck, you’ll be able to enjoy an opera, ballet or concert from some of the finest seats in the house. The lottery is run exclusively via the Opernhaus app.

What You’ll Need

The lottery is available exclusively through the Opernhaus app. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play and log in.

If you have previously booked a ticket with the Zurich Opera House, you already have an account – simply log in using your existing login credentials. First-time users can create an account directly within the app in just a few steps.

How to Take Part

Open the app and log in. In the lottery overview, you’ll see all the performances with an active lottery. Select a performance, choose either one or two tickets, and enter the lottery. You’ll only be charged CHF 35 per ticket if you win.

If you require wheelchair-accessible seating, you can specify this in the same step.

Automatic Payment

You decide how to proceed after the draw.

Automatic Payment

Upon registration, you can enable automatic payment. If you win, your tickets will be purchased automatically and the amount charged to your registered payment method. No further action is required on your part, and you will then find your tickets in the app.

Any unclaimed tickets will be returned to the lottery pool and included in a second draw at 8:30 pm. Only participants who have enabled automatic payment will be eligible for this second draw.

You can revoke this setting at any time or cancelyour participation in the lottery altogether. You can, of course, enter future lotteries at any time.

Without Automatic Payment

Without automatic payment, any tickets you win will be reserved for you within the specified timeframe. They only become valid for entry once purchased – with automatic payment, this happens by default. If you do not purchase the tickets within the timeframe, the tickets will be returned to the lottery pool.

The Procedure

Two weeks in advance – registration opens. From two weeks before the performance, you can register for the lottery via the app.

One week in advance, 2:00 pm – first draw. The registration deadline is one week before the performance. If you win, you will receive a notification straight away. If you have not set up automatic payment, you will have time to purchase your tickets until 8:00 pm on the same day.

On the same evening, 8:30 pm – second draw. Any unclaimed tickets are returned to the lottery pool and included in the second draw. Only participants who have enabled automatic payment are eligible for this second draw.

This means you’ll know whether you’ve won approximately one week before the performance.

When you Win

If you have enabled automatic payment, everything is already taken care of – your tickets have been purchased and are available in the app. Otherwise, you’ll need to purchase your tickets yourself within the specified timeframe. If you do not complete the purchase, the seats will be released for the second draw.

You can access your tickets in the app at any time under "Lottery" and present them at the entrance.
