How much does a lottery ticket cost?
You pay CHF 35 per winning ticket for seats in categories 1 to 3. You can win up to two tickets per lottery.
How do I take part?
The lottery is run exclusively via the Opernhaus app. Download the app, log in and open the lottery overview. There, select a performance and press "Enter Lottery".
Do I need an account?
Yes, to take part, simply log in to the app using your Opernhaus account. Anyone who has ever booked a ticket with the Zurich Opera House already has an account. If this is your first time with us, you can create a new account directly in the app in just a few steps.
When will I find out if I’ve won?
The first draw takes place at 2:00 pm, one week before the performance. You then have time until 8:00 pm to purchase your tickets. Any tickets that are not claimed will be returned to the lottery pool and included in the second draw at 8:30 pm – only participants with automatic payment enabled will be eligible for this second draw. In both cases, you will receive immediate notification.
How are the winners selected?
Winners are selected at random in each draw. The order in which entries are received makes no difference.
Where can I find my tickets?
Once purchased, your tickets can be found in the app under "Lottery". You can access them there at any time and present them at the entrance.
Can I resell my tickets?
Lottery tickets are personal and may not be resold for profit. Reselling tickets for profit may result in exclusion from future lotteries.
Can I exchange or return lottery tickets?
Lottery tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.
What if I don’t win?
You will be notified and are welcome to enter future lotteries.
Can I withdraw my entry from a lottery?
Yes. You can leave a lottery at any time before the first draw. To do so, select "Leave Lottery" in the overview of active lotteries.
Can I disable automatic payment again?
Yes. In the overview of an active lottery, you can switch automatic payment on or off at any time using the toggle.
