Abstract
At the premiere of Humperdinck’s “Hänsel und Gretel”, musicians from the Orchestra of Zurich Opera present a program featuring two masterpieces of Romantic chamber music. The lyrical Piano Quintet in G major, Op. 37, reveals the chamber-music side of the composer Engelbert Humperdinck. It is paired with the powerful Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 44, by Robert Schumann.
