Auf Circés Zauberinsel

Family Concert (8+)

From 22. March 2026 until 29. March 2026

Circe, the daughter of the sun god Helios, once lived peacefully with tame lions and wolves on the island of Aiaia. She possesses a special gift: she can transform people into animals. For example, she turned the proud Picus into a woodpecker. But when, out of jealousy, Circe transforms Glaucus into a pig and his beloved Scylla into a terrifying monster, everything spirals out of control.

Since then, Circe has been on the run, racing through the centuries. The ravenous dragon Scylla is pursuing her. Circe desperately tries to reverse her spell, save Glaucus, and find peace again. But her powers are no longer strong enough.

She hopes to find someone who can help her undo her spell of rage so that she can finally withdraw in peace to her island of Aiaia.

In this baroque family concert, the sorceress Circe tells of her once-magical abilities and hopes that the children will help her set everything right again.

Anna Gitschthaler and musicians from the “Orchestra La Scintilla” present music from Jean-Marie Leclair’s opera “Scylla et Glaucus” as well as excerpts from his trio sonatas.
