Abstract
With a program dedicated to Johann Sebastian Bach the renowned harpsichordist (and in this case: organist) Mahan Esfahani and the violinist and musical director of the Orchestra La Scintilla Riccardo Minasi will perform together. Both artists are committed to meticulously examine the sources of historical music and yet remain open, experimental and authentic in their music-making. Together with the Orchestra La Scintilla, Esfahani and Minasi will not be presenting well-known classics, but several organ concertos by Bach that have been lost in their original versions. The concerto movements were reconstructed on the basis of cantatas in which Bach took up the musical material and reworked it.
