Abstract
With his distinctive bass voice and incomparable stage presence, Matti Salminen gave Zurich opera audiences many unforgettable, magical moments over a period of decades. Equally at home in the Mozart, Verdi and Wagner repertoires, Salminen touched generations of opera-goers with his interpretations of Sarastro, Philip II, Osmin, Gurnenanz, Boris Godunov or King Marke. At this special concert, the bass will now bid farewell to his Zurich audience with the finest arias from his showpiece roles, under the baton of his Finnish compatriot Leif Segerstam.
