Abstract
The Mexican tenor Javier Camarena is one of the outstanding bel canto interpreters of our time. He has been associated with Opernhaus Zürich for many years. In January, he and his piano partner Rubén Fernández Aguirre will perform a recital dedicated to the composer Francesco Paolo Tosti (1846-1916). Tosti is known for his romances for voice and piano, which he wrote in Italian, French and English. The composer and singing teacher spent a large part of his life in England, where he was responsible for the musical soirées at court and taught the children of Queen Victoria.
