Fairy Tales on the Musical Carpet «what do you do with an idea?»

Storybook by Kobi Yamada, illustrations by Mae Besom
with music by Maurice Ravel
For children 4 years and older, only with adult accompaniment

One day it's just there, as if from nowhere. Just like that, this idea in the form of a repetitive rhythm forces itself into Maurice's memory and never lets go. His fingers keep tapping this one beat and a melody seduces him into dream worlds. What should Maurice do with this idea that is so different, perhaps a little daring, or just a little crazy? Afraid of being ridiculed, he tries to suppress his idea, but the idea demands his full attention. Together with a wind quintet, an actor makes this inspiration blossom into something wonderful, unrecognizable.

In this Fairy Tales on the Musical Carpet format for the youngest opera guests, the actor tells how Maurice Ravel created his unmistakable Boléro from a simple Iberian motif. Children can participate and are in close proximity to the artists.
