Abstract

Raphaël Pichon is one of the most talented conductors of his generation – with his ensemble Pygmalion he proves it again and again in acclaimed concerts and on unique CD albums. He also inspired the Zürich audience, on the podium of the Orchestra La Scintilla and together with the soprano Julie Fuchs, with a program devoted to Rameau in the past season. The young, spirited conductor now returns to Zurich for another concert with our original sound set. In addition to selected concerts, two masterpieces from the last few years of Mozart's work will be heard: the Jupiter Symphony, composed in 1788, completed his work in the symphonic range, and the seemingly simple key of C major gave him the opportunity to develop and complete his musical cosmos. The A major clarinet concert, which was produced just two months before Mozart's death, is equally unrivaled and accomplished. The interpreter of this concert is our solo clarinetist Robert Pickup.
