Next Generation

In the "Next Generation" series, emerging choreographic talent is given a major opportunity to shine. Every two years, dancers from Zurich Ballet and the Junior Ballet present their own choreographic creations on the Studio Stage of the Opera House, developed specifically for this performance series. Working with their fellow dancers, company members rehearse and stage their new works, while also having the opportunity to explore the creation of sets and costumes. The "small-scale format" enhances the intensity and choreographic diversity of this richly varied ballet evening, giving rise time and again to surprising experiments, insightful choreographic snapshots, and moments of striking sensuality.
