Abstract
With “Monster's Paradise”, a music theatre work by the Austrian composer Olga Neuwirth will be presented at the Zurich Opera House for the first time. One week before this premiere, Olga Neuwirth can be experienced live in conversation. She comments on her own works from various creative periods, performed by the Ensemble Opera Nova. In addition to solo works such as “Magic flu-idity” for flute and Olivetti typewriter, compositions for ensemble will also be heard, including the piece “HOOLOOMOOLOO”, in which the composer refers to a painting of the same name by the artist Frank Stella. Furthermore, the countertenor Andrew Watts sings five songs from Neuwirth’s “Hommage” to the dazzling pop star Klaus Nomi.
