Abstract
Orchestra La Scintilla's new programme takes us to the centres of Baroque musical life at the beginning of the 18th century. For example, to Paris, where Jean-Féry Rebel presented an unusual dance suite (Les Élements) that begins with spectacular musical chaos; to the Dresden court, where, alongside Bach, original composers such as Jan Dismas Zelenka (Hipocondrie) and virtuoso musicians such as Johann Georg Pisendel (Sonata in C minor) were also responsible for the programme; and to London, where Handel presented not only oratorios but also magnificent orchestral works (Concerti a due cori) at the Royal Covent Garden. Hanna Weinmeister will be the soloist in Bach's Violin Concerto in E major. Dresden-born conductor Hans-Christoph Rademann will be in charge of the musical direction.
