Abstract
With the cantata Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen, festive tones are struck in the 1st La Scintilla concert. J. S. Bach placed a trumpet alongside the solo soprano in the two outer movements of this cantata - both parts demand great virtuosity from the performers. This cantata, which is entirely focussed on praising God, is contrasted with the secular cantata Weichet nur, betrübte Schatten, which Bach wrote on the occasion of a wedding ceremony. Both works feature the English soprano Carolyn Sampson, who has worked as a Bach interpreter with the most important ensembles and conductors of historically informed performance. Riccardo Minasi also conducts soloists and members of the Orchestra La Scintilla in two solo concertos by Bach and G. P. Telemann.
