Evan Rogister is regarded as one of the most versatile conductors on the international scene, with projects ranging from the "Ring" cycle for the Gothenburg Opera (2018–2022) and his 2023 conducting of "Don Giovanni" with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment at Glyndebourne to interpretations of contemporary works such as the opera "Fire Shut Up in My Bones" at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 2021. From 2018 to 2025 he served as music director of the Washington National Opera and the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra. He has conducted ensembles such as the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Gothenburg Symphony, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Essen Philharmonic. In the 2017/18 season he made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York with Mozart’s "Die Zauberflöte". He has also conducted operas such as "Tannhäuser" and "Rienzi" at Deutsche Oper Berlin, "Lohengrin" at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and at the Royal Swedish Opera, "Elektra" at the Kennedy Center, Bartók’s "Duke Bluebeard’s Castle" and Schoenberg’s "Erwartung" in a double bill at the opera houses in Gothenburg and Seattle, "Otello" in Berlin and Luxembourg, as well as "Le nozze di Figaro" at Malmö Opera. In 2024 he made his debut with a concert programme at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and returned there in the summer of 2025. He is also committed to fostering the next generation of artists and regularly gives masterclasses, including through his collaboration with the Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont Competition. His debut recording on Deutsche Grammophon, "Follow, Poet", with the American ensemble LPR, was released in 2015.
