Internationales Opernstudio

The International Opera Studio (IOS) has been in existence since 1961. It was founded under the patronage of the Friends of Zurich Opera and has since developed into one of the most important training institutions for aspiring opera singers. Each year, young talents from around the world are given the opportunity to earn their first professional artistic credentials under expert guidance. It thus represents an important transitional phase between completing vocal studies and entering the professional world. In addition to instruction in vocal technique, stagecraft, and masterclasses with renowned artists from the fields of singing, directing, and conducting, the participants have the opportunity to take on both minor and major roles on the main stage.
