New paths into the city. With “Offstage,” the Zurich Opera House brings its orchestra out of the pit and directly into the city. In a new series of pop-up concerts, musicians from the Orchestra of the Zurich Opera perform in popular bars and venues – without tails and with free admission. With this format, the Opera House presents classical music in a fresh way and seeks encounters with audiences outside the traditional setting.
These roughly 30-minute pop-up concerts combine spontaneous joy of playing with vibrant bar culture. That means: come in, listen, be surprised – and maybe enjoy a drink while you're at it.
The series kicks off on Wednesday, 12 November, at the Studio Bar on Geroldstrasse in Zurich.
Performers:
Maya Kadosh (violin), Lucia Kobza (violin), Alexandr Tatarinov (viola), Seiji Yokota (cello), Robert Pickup (clarinet), Evgeny Ruzin (trumpet), Tobias Lang (trombone), Sasha Sonnbichler (banjo), Florian Hatzelmann (tuba), Dominik Herrmann (drums)
