Abstract

"Die Zauberflöte" is one of the most enigmatic masterpieces in the history of opera. Mozart’s final opera leads us into a world filled with magic, trials and mysterious symbols, telling the story of a search for inner strength, maturity and the overcoming of fear. Between light and shadow unfolds a universal play of human experience – sustained by Mozart’s profound music and its compelling appeal to our humanity. The new production is directed by the Ticino-born stage director Daniele Finzi Pasca, whose poetic theatrical language uniquely combines theatre, acrobatics and circus. At the podium stands the young Finnish conductor Tarmo Peltokoski, already among the most sought-after conductors in the world today.
