Architecture Competition for Young People

Between the opera house and Lake Zurich, a new building is set to be constructed – featuring an open meeting space and an inviting viewing terrace. As part of a competition, young people developed ideas on how to create a place where a wide variety of people can feel at ease, translating these ideas into their own architectural projects. The more than 350 submitted works will be presented from 9 to 17 March 2026 in a public exhibition at the Baugewerbliche Berufsschule Zürich (BBZ) as well as online.

The successful project, which is being carried out jointly by the Tonhalle-Gesellschaft Zürich, the Zurich Opera House, and the Kunsthaus, entered its third season.
