Musical Stories «sleeping beauty»

with music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky
For children 7 years and older, with adult accompaniment

The evil fairy Carabosse curses little Princess Aurora with a terrible spell on the day of her christening: when she is 15, the Princess will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die. Although a good fairy can stop the absolute worst from happening, there is no way for Aurora to completely escape her fate. As predicted, she pricks her finger, and falls into a deep sleep. Only after a hundred years does a prince finally succeed in fighting his way through the thorny brambles to the enchanted castle, in order to wake up the princess with a kiss.

On the Studiobühne, children learn that stories can be told not only with words, but with music. They learn about the different effects of music and get to know different instruments. Children and adults aren’t just spectators: they get to sing, dance, help shape the events of each story, and can even get on stage with the artists.
